What made you choose your particular business?

- I have a passion for homes, the buying and selling process and for helping people. This business allows me to do something new each day, and to help someone achieve a new step in their journey.

Where are you located?

- I do not have an office location as I serve throughout the Greater Richmond Area.

When did you open?

- March 2018 is when Glen Allen Inspections became fully open for business. I have been inspection homes professionally since 2014.

What are your specials for the month?

- What's really special is that Glenn Allen Inspections now offers Radon Testing as part of a standard inspection! For only $179.00, you can add on a Radon Test (up to 2 monitors) to be picked up and reported on the day of your inspection.

Tell us what makes your business special.

- Home Inspectors come from many different backgrounds and walks of life. My previous work experience was seven years of helping clients buy and sell real estate. While I enjoyed the thrill of the ups and downs on the Realtor roller coaster, I have also enjoyed my transition into owning this new business, while keeping that unique insight to the buying and selling process. I have been right where other Realtors have been: scheduling appointments, negotiating deals and addendums, and holding client’s hands through the tough times. It has helped me to establish how to help my customers with their inspection. The best direction for my efforts and my focus is always on the customer’s best interest, the details of the home, and not the drama. There is no need for scare tactics or inflated perception of risk when inspecting a home. I always strive to be honest, thorough, and to communicate material defects effectively. While this might sound simple, I believe it to be a rare find in today’s market, and that makes it special.

What are your hours?

- Call me. No really, I can be flexible. However, a typical schedule is created by picking either a morning or afternoon time-slot. Depending on size of the home, and other factors, the evaluation can last from 2-4 hours.

What’s new on the horizon?

-This is year three for my new company. I am striving for growth this year with added training, tools and services. I enjoy New Construction and Phase inspections and this year I plan on completing more of those. In February I was fully certified with a Part 107 Commercial Drone License through the FAA so that I can inspect and photograph with Unmanned Aerial drones for work, and in April I added on Radon Testing as an ancillary service to the home inspection. I am certainly looking forward to many new opportunities on the horizon this year!

Make sure to call Nick Thruston at Glen Allen Inspections if you want a thorough and professional home inspection experience.
